In the United States alone, roughly 300,000 children are bought and sold for sex. Sex slavery is a growing and lucrative epidemic that is often more profitable than the drug trade. The perception is that these girls (and also boys) are prostitutes who entered sex work out of necessity or by choice. This concept didn’t make sense to high schooler Fiona Bock. Why would someone her own age “choose” to be a sex worker? The truth is, they didn’t.
