FILM SELECTION UPDATE

MNFF is pleased to announce that nearly 370 films from 27 countries were submitted for consideration in 2016, a 15% increase over last year’s inaugural festival. “This significant uptick in submissions,” said Lloyd Komesar, Festival Producer, “provides a wonderful validation of our Festival’s basic mission, namely to support the work of first and second time filmmakers. We are developing our niche and feel that we have connected with the filmmaker community in a very positive way.”

UPDATE: With the submission window having closed on May 31, the Festival has now moved on to the selection of the 85-90 films that will be offered at the 2nd Annual MNFF this coming August 25-28. Due to the volume and caliber of the films submitted this year, the screening committee has extended the acceptance window to July 10. Filmmakers will be notified of their acceptance status on a rolling basis until that date.
