THE BASICS OF HOW-TO
MNFF6: ONLINE - What can I watch?
MNFF6: ONLINE will offer 23 documentary and narrative feature films, 6 short film programs [containing 33 films] and numerous Q&As with filmmakers. You can preview all our films on our Films page.
MNFF6: ONLINE - How do I watch?
You can access our programming either by purchasing a Festival Pass or Single Tickets.
How do I purchase an MNFF6: ONLINE Festival Pass?
A Festival Pass costs $80 and gives you access to all our films and Q&As. To purchase the Pass, just click on the button below. Passes go on sale August 1. Buy your Fest Pass.
Once I have my pass, how do I access the programming?
When you buy a Pass on our website, you’ll receive a Purchase Confirmation email message from our ticketing partner Elevent. Next, you’ll receive a second email that has a JOIN button to claim your Pass or “subscription.” Click that button, enter your e-mail address and create a password. Once you submit that info, you’ll go right to our MNFF6: ONLINE “watch” portal where our films will screen. If you leave for awhile, just enter our customized Festival URL, watch.middfilmfest.org, in your browser to return to the portal.
Confirmation emails are sent automatically by Elevent when you complete your purchase. If you do not receive a confirmation email within a few minutes of completing your purchase, please check your spam or junk mail folders before contacting our customer service at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
Can I share my festival pass with others?
Your festival pass is not shareable. It allows you to view one film at any given time on any of your internet connected devices. You can watch any film more than once, of course.
How do I purchase an MNFF6: ONLINE Single Ticket?
A Single Ticket costs $12.50 and gives you access to the feature film you have selected and the Q&A associated with it. Single tickets are also available for any of the six Short Programs we are presenting. To purchase a Single Ticket, go to the Films page and find the feature film or short program you are interested in and just click the button. Single tickets go on sale August 10.
When you buy a ticket, you will receive a confirmation email when your purchase is complete. You will receive a second email containing our customized URL link, watch.middfilmfest.org, one hour before the film becomes available to view at the Festival. That link will take you to the film you purchased on our watch portal. If you don’t receive the film link, please be sure to check your junk folder or spam folder.
Also, be aware that you have direct access to all your ticket purchases on your Order History Page. So, if you still have issues finding that email with the film link, just go to goelevent.com/u/OrderHistory and you will be able to click on a link to view the film. Consider this your back up system!
Can I share my ticket with others?
Your Ticket allows for single access to MNFF6: ONLINE and is not shareable. It only allows for one view of your film on any of your internet connected devices.
Are there any limitations I need to know about?
Because of our agreements with various filmmakers and film distributors, some feature films will be available just four days rather than the full eight days of the Festival. Check each film’s availability on our Films page.
Also, much as physical screenings have limited seating capacity, there will be several films at MNFF6: ONLINE with a limited number of views allowed, per our arrangements with those filmmakers and distributors. Should a film reach that predetermined limit, it will be marked as Not Available on its page on the watch portal.
Filmmakers and distributors have, in some cases, asked us to implement geographic limits on where their feature film can be seen. Some films can be viewed from any location in the world but several may be viewed only by United States residents and, for a very small number of feature films, viewed only by Vermont residents. Check each film’s specific geographic limits on our Films page.
Finally, at the request of their distributor, two feature films will only be available by purchasing a separate individual ticket: John Lewis: Good Trouble and Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and The Band. Festival Passes will NOT be accepted for viewing these particular films.
STREAMING A FESTIVAL
What is streaming?
For MNFF6: ONLINE, streaming simply refers to watching a program over your Internet connection, such as watching something on Netflix or YouTube, rather than downloading a video file to your computer. The program is immediate and available on demand with any device that is connected to the Internet.

You will need a valid email address, an MNFF6: ONLINE Pass or Single Ticket, and a computer, mobile phone, tablet, or Apple TV 4K or Roku on your television. Remember: some films may be viewable for US residents only and a small number for Vermont residents only. For additional Technical Requirements, please see the section below.

For more information, please refer to the Technical Requirements at the bottom of this FAQ.
When can I begin streaming?
Films and Q&As are available for Pass holders and Ticket holders to stream beginning on Thursday, August 27 at 9am EDT. MNFF6: ONLINE will be available until 2am EDT on Friday, September 4, and all programs must be watched by then.
Remember: some feature films will only be available August 27-30 and some will only be available August 31-September 3. Please visit each film’s listing from our Films page for specific information.
What happens if I forget my Pass holder password?
Use the password reset option on your portal login page to reset your password. Click on watch.middfilmfest.org to get there and use the email address you used to login initially.
Can I watch a program more than once?
If you are a Pass holder, yes. However, please note that several films have a limited overall number of views available, and if one reaches that predetermined limit, it will no longer be available for viewing. Single ticket holders can only watch a purchased film once.
Why is there a watermark on the program I'm watching?
Each program is watermarked with a unique code in the corner of the screen as a security measure.
Can I download a program instead of streaming it?
The MNFF6: ONLINE platform uses DRM technology to prevent downloading as a security measure. All programs may only be watched while streaming. It is not possible to download a program.
Can I switch to another device once I have started viewing a film?
Yes, if you start watching on a TV and switch to a tablet or laptop, for example, we recommend viewing on the same Wi-Fi network or Internet connection to maintain continuity. If you encounter an issue, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Does MNFF offer technical support for the MNFF6: ONLINE platform?
Yes, to the best of our abilities. You may reach our staff via email to address questions about the MNFF website and MNFF6: ONLINE in general.
