Breaking The News tells the story of digital news start-up The 19th*. Named after the Amendment that gave some women the right to vote, The 19th* identifies and amplifies voices that are omitted from mainstream coverage. The film documents how one newsroom confronts gender and race inequity and inadequate inclusion, both as a workplace and in their journalism. Moreover, the film is about America in flux and the voices that are often left out of the American story.
