Orpa, a 13 year old bookish Papuan girl who is to be married off by her father, runs away one night to pursue her dream of attending school in Wamena. She crosses paths with Ryan, a wannabe musician from Jakarta who agrees to take her. On their journey, a gentle friendship sparks but they encounter difficulties in their travels as they are chased by both Orpa’s father and the villagers who accuse Ryan of running from murder.
