SYNOPSIS
Shame, a riveting Emmy–winning documentary, tells the story of international human rights icon Mukhtaran Mai. She is a Pakistani peasant who was gang-raped and shamed as a teenager in her village, but then used her trauma to spark a legal revolution that exposed centuries of tribal conflict and government mismanagement.
